Baby Addison/ Columbia SC Newborn Photographer

Alesha is now the proud Mama of a new baby girl, Addison. We carried along the theme of her red satin from the maternity session to the 2 week session. Some of you may be wondering why the red satin well it has to do with how she got here. Not the actual satin, but a pair of red satin shoes. Oh what that red satin can do, bring a precious baby into this world. Addison is beautiful baby and Alesha is so lucky to have her.

USC Graduation Mal/Columbia SC Photographer

Mal needed some photographs to celebrate her graduation from USC. Mal & I had an amazing time photographing downtown, wind and all. We ended up having to go out two different days because the first day we went out the wind was terrible. I thought that it was going to blow us both away, but we still got some great images from that day. On the second day out I captured some amazing photographs of Mal. She has the most porcelain skin that I have ever seen. Mal has been going to USC for the past four years, but she is from Fredericksburg, Virgina. As we were talking we found out that we both share a love for the beauty of a small little Church in Virginia close to wear my husband Jeff is from. She says that someday she would like to get married in that church. Good luck to Mal as she heads to Colorado for Grad School. We will miss her!

Alesha's Maternity Session/ Columbia SC Maternity Photographer

Alesha, Regina and Tatianna came over to the studio for Alesha's Maternity Session and we had a blast. We had an afternoon filled with red satin, red heels, black & White Ties and face paint. Yes face paint. Alesha had a great idea to paint a pumpkin and heart on her belly for some of her favorites during her pregnancy. I hope that this sessions inspires you as much as it inspired all of us.

Knowing the Difference

Lately I have been hearing alot about clients comparing different photography studios. The truth is, it is very hard to compare one studio against another, because each photographer and studio has a different idea about what a finished product is. Some studios offer a raw photograph and some only offer a finished photograph. Some photographers seek out higher education and continue to improve their talents and some do not. Some photographers keep all of their equipment in good working order and some do not. Some photographers use beautiful packaging and some do not. I could go on and on about the differences of photographers. They just cannot compare, you would be comparing an apple to an orange. Two things that are just not the same. Just remember that investing in your photographs is investing in your history. Moments that will represent you when you are not here to represent yourself. I wish that I could take credit for that line, but that would be one of my mentors words, Abe Thomy.

2008 PPSC Annual Convention Chairman

I have not fallen off of the face of the earth, but I have been busy!!! As some of you know I am the Convention Chairman for the Professional Photographers of SC and we are having our Annual Convention February 9-12 in Myrtle Beach. It has been both challenging and rewarding planning this convention. Especially since it is a volunteer position. But with every great reward comes a great sacrifice. I am glad that I had this opportunity to serve my fellow photographers in a profession that I am so blessed to be a part of. For those of you that do not know me, I have had a camera in my hand since I was 15 years old. The moment that I took my first photograph I knew what I would spend the rest of my life doing. Capturing stories and creating peoples histories. Making sure that they are leaving a legacy of recorded memories for their family.
