They Grow so Fast

I have been photographing these children since their preschool days. Every time I see them I am absolutely amazed at how much they have grown. We have been from silly face to all grown up in just a handful of years. Time flies so fast, cherish every moment.

Mr. Football

There is no doubt in my mind that this child is going to be a football player. He is an absolute natural! He was just full of expressions.

"Allmost rained out"

After the drought this summer we should have been hoping for rain, but not this morning and guess what we got, RAIN!!! But thankfully it cleared up about midmorning so we could still go out and photograph in the park. You would not imagine that last year this time the sweet face you see holding a leaf to my camera lens was would not let me near him last year. I photographed him from a distance, but still got some great photographs that are now on his parents walls. Oh how they grow in a year, he has changed so much. Since last year there has been an addition to the family and she is beautiful.

"River Rats"

Jordan and I had a great time photographing for his Christmas card this year. We have been photographing Jordan since he was 3. How time flies when you are having fun. I can still see his sweet little face in his green velvet nickers and bow tie the first time his Mama brought him to the studio. His Mama and I decided on some unconventional photographs for this years cards. We started at the park and ended up in the water.

Jordan thought that this was the coolest thing ever as we navigated our way through the water with all our street clothes and my camera. We had some strange looks from onlookers from the park and from the Gervais street bridge. We truly looked like river rats when we got out. But the images were worth every wet step we took to get them, but you will have to wait for the Christmas Card to see those images. It is so nice to be able to photograph a child that has grown up right in front of our eyes.

Koa & Connellous

Just wanted to say Happy Anniversary to Koa & Connellous. We had the pleasure of being their wedding photographers at Middleton Place last year. Thank you to all the groomsmen who saved me from the alligator that I totally did not see. And a thank you to Connellous for keeping me so calm when the two of us walked up on a snake looking for the perfect photograph. We hope that the two of you have had an amazing year!!!

"I'm Ready for my Close Up"

One of our babies decided that she was ready for her close up on Friday as I was setting up the studio for a newborn. So I photographed her with Jeff. Don't they look cute!!!!

"Sweet Child"

Congratulations to Becca & Dan on the birth of their daughter. She is absolutely beautiful. She was born with a head full of hair and tall. Just like her Daddy. We have know Becca and Dan since 2003 when we photographed their wedding in Shelby, NC and they moved to Charlotte after their wedding. We photographed Becca's maternity photographs about one month before we got to photograph their new baby girl. Jeff & I are so excited for the two of them. They are amazing people and we know that their daughter will grow up to be amazing too.

"Our 4 legged babies"

People are always asking us if we have any children and the answer is yes, but they have 4 legs. Are these not the cutest babies that you have ever seen!! Okay so maybe I am a little biased. But they are the loves of our life.

Derrick & Shinique

Just wanted to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to Derrick & Shinique!!!! Check out the showcase of their wedding album on our album page. The two of you are in our thoughts often. We are still looking forward to that pool game!!!!!

Sonya & Mike "trashing the dress"

Recently, Sonya contacted Jeff & I about a website called "Trash the Dress" that she and other brides had been talking about on a popular wedding forum. When I first read the name I have to admit "shock" was my first thought. I visited the website and I have to say that I was shocked at some of the images, but absolutely amazed a
others. I realized the concept was about "creation, not destruction". From that moment forward, I was hooked. Sonya & I decided on two different architectural styles, one that involved brick & stone surfaces and another that involved water. Yes, water! The images turned out absolutely amazing. Welcome to the "Modern age of Creative Photography",Mark Eric. So if anyone out there wants to trash their dress, let me know. Thanks Maranda for some amazing makeup!
